Be the Message that You Send Out:

"It is wise to first have a wealthy heart to be completely happy and accept all that surrounds you. Once internal success is conquered, the rest will come together. Therefore, those around you will be ready to stand by your side and follow your lead. Have love, faith, and stay loyal to whatever it is that you do."

A Natural Beauty & Magical Moment for Little Girls:

What a wonderful collaboration with Carol’s Daughter and Disney. The two companies have partnered as of the Fall of 2009; presenting a brand new and limited edition "Magical Beauty Collection" which consists of hair and bath products for children. The magical theme of each item is in reference to “The Princess and The Frog”. Be one of the first to find out when the magical collection will be available for your little princess by signing up through the following link: http://www.carolsdaughter.com/display.do?ruleID=100396&utm_source=cheetah&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=20090915-DISNEY. I know I will for my two princesses because the hair milk collaborates with the natural curls in my kid’s hair and now they can have their own shampoo and conditioner. I think the children are going to be so excited to have a Disney character featuring on one of the best natural hair, bath, and body products ever. I am all for this because Carol’s Daughter Products, Disney, and Frogs are certainly on the Cartilini’s List of Favorites. Fashion & Style

Know your Figure: “Tight is not always right”. Wear clothing that you are comfortable in. There’s a liaison between style and comfort. When you look good, you feel good. Attention all Females: becoming familiar with your figure is very important when shopping for dresses and gowns. This can be a big assistance to the silhouette of your dress. The “silhouette” of your wardrobe is the foundation of your dress which contours the shape of your attire.
Dress in Proportions: Using the proportion style method is one of the key elements to dressing for success. “It is not what you wear; it is how you wear it”. So don’t be afraid to coordinate. Remember, it is always best to choose quality over quantity.
Have Your Swag Together: “Wear the skirt; don’t let the skirt wear you”. Always remain confident in whatever you wear. A person’s swag can really compliment their function of dress. Be yourself. Your style is what makes you unique. In the fashion industry, style is defined by distinctive characteristics. You don’t have to be a celebrity to be a trend setter.
Refrain from mix matching Patterns: Loud colors and patterns draw to much attention to specific areas of ones body. Wear light colors to create a good focal point. Use dark colors to draw less attention. One should always be mindful of the seasons of the year, the garment selection of the attire, and the color scheme of your outfit. “Remember, plaids and stripes just don’t look right”.
Minimize the Bling: Use beading and embellishments to accent your outfit but, keep it to a minimum. “Even if you can afford to, do not over it”. If you have a nice waist line, perhaps wearing a shiny belt may compliment what you are wearing. If you are showing cleavage, wearing a beaded necklace may complete your fashion statement.

Beauty & Wellness

Hair, Skin, & Nail Care Tippers
Drink plenty of water: Your body is like a plant. It needs a certain amount of sunlight, food, and most of all water. Drink as many bottles of water as you can a day. It cleanses your body giving you clear skin, healthy hair and nails. If you don’t like it try Crystal Light Vitamin Enhanced drink mix. It contains vitamins A, C, and E as well as antioxidants which help support ones immune system. It comes in several flavors such as green tea, raspberry, and cherry pomegranate. Not only is it healthy, it gives your water a great taste without any sugars added.

Use Sunscreen: Using sunscreen can help prevent sunburn, anti-aging, and importantly it blocks sun rays which can cause skin cancer. Don’t face the sun or go to the beach without any sunscreen on. Also purchase lip moisturizers that contain SPF.

Take Vitamins: Ask your doctor which vitamins are best for you. There are tablets that are specially designed to enhance your hair, skin, and nails.

  1. Use natural hair and skin brands such as one of my favorites: “Carol’s Daughter”. Shop online at http://www.carolsdaughter.com/ for natural hair and skin products. I love using the hair milk, hair honey, Lisa’s hair elixir, and leave in conditioner spray by Carol’s Daughter in my hair as well as my daughters. I am so excited that they opened up a store in New Orleans, La. on 523 Rue Iberville in the French Quarters. Mayor Ray Nagin has proclaimed that July 1st is Carol’s Daughters Day in the city. I can not wait to visit. If you have not already, see why Jada Pinkett-Smith and Mary J. Blidge both love Carol’s Daughter so much. I know everyone in my household does. The store will be hosted by the founder herself; Lisa Price and upon other celebrity appearances during the week of the 4th of July. Visit http://www.carolsdaughter.com/ for more details.

The Historic Mark of Baseball Caps

In 1845 the historic mark of the baseball cap was originated from the uniform of the professional sport, baseball. The New York Knickerbockers were this sports first professional team. The flannelled white shirts, blue pants, and straw hat attire was profound by Alexander Cartwright. Due to the amount of heat during the summer, the materials and fabrics of the baseball cap eventually transformed. For more historical facts about the first professional baseball team and uniforms visit: http://ezinearticles.com/?A-History-of-Baseball-Caps&id21692. Today baseball caps have become more than just a portion of an athlete’s uniform. Just about everyone from hip hop artist to ordinary people wear baseball caps to compliment their favorite team, college, and personal style.

The Six Functions of Dress

Today the six functions of dress consist of sexual enhancement, gender deference, ceremonial, decoration, and environmental protection. When individuals use sexual enhancement as a function of dress they may wear garments that are made of silk, satin, and lace. These materials are well constructed throughout lingerie and other undergarments. Gender deference is a function of dress that can be greatly distinguished in the workplace. Most males wear ties with their shirts to compliment their suits on the job. On the other hand, females can wear pants or skirts with their suits. However, some professional uniforms do require females to wear some form of a tie around the collar of their shirts. Many wear their clothing to symbolize an event or a special occasion. This would be classified as ceremonial. Most of these garments or embellished with decoration. Decoration can define ones personal style. Today, many people are fans of high fashion which also can define ones social status. However, the most important role of the six functions of dress is environmental protection. Our wardrobe does more than define who we are. We all must dress accordingly and protect ourselves against harsh weather.
